The tour begins with a steady ascent at the church of St. Jakobus in Samnaun-Compatsch (1715 m). After a short ascent through a larch forest, the view opens up into the Samnaun valley. At Unteralp, the Alpstein stands at the edge of the path. It is one of the largest boulders in Switzerland. At Alp Trida the path branches off to the right to Alp Bella. Alp Bella (2380 m) is one of the highest cow alps in Switzerland and is reached after a further 100 metres in altitude. In July and August, the alpine dairy family runs a snack station with food and drinks. The way back is now either direct and steep on the alpine path back to Unteralp, or somewhat flatter on the same path as the ascent.
