From 27 June 2026, the Silvretta Therme Ischgl will be bringing a real surfing experience to the Tyrolean mountains with a pop-up surf facility. At the only facility of its kind in Tyrol, guests can try their hand at surfing right in the heart of the Alps.

With effect from 1 May 2026, Martin Ladner, who holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and Business Administration, has taken up the position of Managing Director at Bergbahnen Kappl AG. A native of Kappl and a resident of the town, Mr Ladner had previously served as an authorised signatory at the company and brings with him not only sound business management expertise but also extensive specialist knowledge and many years of international experience in cable car construction.

When top chefs meet mountain huts, the Paznaun alpine summer becomes a true culinary experience. From July to October 2026, “Culinary Paznaun” brings together regional produce, alpine tradition and modern culinary artistry at selected huts throughout the valley. The series opens with the Summer Opening at the gourmet market by the Cultural Centre in Ischgl on 3 July – the start of a summer full of flavour, panoramic views and authentic moments of indulgence.

The Talentetreff was held at two secondary schools in 2026: the third edition took place on 19 May at Paznaun Secondary School in Kappl, and on 27 May the successful programme was rolled out for the first time at Vorderes Stanzertal Secondary School in Pians. This allowed the project to be expanded further, offering even more young people the opportunity to gain practical insight into regional businesses and a variety of career paths.

Two days dedicated to mountain biking, set against the high-alpine landscape of the Silvretta: for more than three decades, the Ischgl Ironbike has been one of the most established mountain bike events in the Alpine region. Marathon races of varying difficulty levels, a spectator-friendly short track race and youth competitions shape the event from 7 to 8 August 2026, representing top sporting performance and a diverse race programme.

Great joy in Ischgl: The Paznaun–Ischgl Tourist Board today presented RollOn Austria with a donation cheque for €11,111.

A spectacular finale at over 2,300 metres: Christina Aguilera delivered an electrifying performance at the “Top of the Mountain Closing Concert”, showcasing her powerhouse vocals, dynamic choreography and commanding stage presence – all set against a breathtaking alpine backdrop and in front of 19,000 enthusiastic spectators. A closing event that not only gave goosebumps but also crowned a highly successful winter season in Ischgl in impressive style.

On 10 and 11 July 2026, Paznaun will once again become the stage for one of the most spectacular trail running events in the Alps. The Paznaun Ischgl Ultra Trail (PIUT) combines peak athletic performance, stunning alpine scenery and a strong sense of community – from the 100-kilometre ultra distance to the Kids Run. The PIUT Kids Day expands the event weekend with a varied family programme. Two preparatory camps in June and August complement the event and further strengthen the region’s sustainable positioning as a premier trail running destination.

Thrilling Schlager music at 2,300 metres: at the “Top of the Mountain Spring Concert”, Ben Zucker transformed the Idalp in Ischgl into an energetic open-air stage and thrilled more than 8,000 fans with an emotional show. The artist did not let the changeable weather – ranging from sleet to sunny spells – deter him from offering his fans a thoroughly rousing experience. Another highlight of “Spring Blanc”, which impressively continues the musical spring in the Alps.

Ischgl has once again confirmed its exceptional standing in alpine tourism: by welcoming its two-millionth guest of the 2025/26 winter season and setting yet another Guinness World Record, the destination has achieved two significant milestones and can look back on an exceptionally successful season.
