From 29 August to 4 October 2026, the Golden Summits will bring activity, indulgence, music and living tradition to Ischgl, Galtür, Kappl and See. With events, regional cuisine and mountain railways operating until early October, late summer and autumn in the Paznaun valley are the ideal time for active and enjoyable days in the Tyrolean mountains.

With new mountain lifts, an exceptionally early start to the cross-country skiing season and attractive offers for families and the next generation of freestyle enthusiasts, Paznaun is heading into winter 2026/27 with plenty of new developments. Ischgl and Galtür are making significant investments in comfort and infrastructure. Kappl is expanding its winter sports offering with a new snowpark and two freestyle camps for young skiers and snowboarders. In See, a free ski course for pre-school children in March 2027 and ice climbing at Bergliswand add new highlights for families and mountain sports fans.

Regional specialities, traditional crafts and a varied programme of music: on 29 August 2026, the Paznaun Market Day will transform the Silvretta car park in Ischgl into a meeting place for connoisseurs, families and music lovers. Paznaun alpine cheese, local crafts and a varied programme of events will ensure an atmospheric start to autumn in the Paznaun.

Over 700 mountain bikers from 20 nations made for an impressive turnout at the 31st edition of the Ischgl Ironbike. In one of Europe’s toughest mountain bike marathon races, the Italian serial winner Claudia Peretti and the Chilean Sebastian Gesche claimed victory in the Extreme Distance category on Saturday.

For two days, everything in Ischgl revolves around speed, endurance and top sporting performances against the spectacular backdrop of the Silvretta. For more than three decades, the Ischgl Ironbike has been one of the most prestigious and long-established mountain bike events in the Alps.

A major honour for Galtür and the Huber farm cheese dairy: Hermann Huber, mayor, hotelier and passionate cheesemaker from Galtür, was awarded the prestigious Kasermandl in Gold, together with Patrick and Philipp Huber, for the “Galtürer Weisse Ziege” in the soft cheese category. In addition, the Huber Farm Cheesery won the “Cheese Producer of the Year” award. As this award was presented for the first time this year, it is of particular significance. They can now count themselves amongst the very best producers of all cheeseries.

Favourites David Niegemann and Marie-Luise Mühlhuber triumph over the flagship distance – 146 young runners take part in the PIUT Kids Run – €2,520 raised during the Charity Run. Glorious sunshine, midsummer temperatures and a new participation record defined the third edition of the Paznaun Ischgl Ultra Trail, or PIUT for short.

This weekend, the Paznaun region will be all about trail running: more than 1,200 participants are expected at the third edition of the Paznaun Ischgl Ultra Trail, or PIUT for short. This impressively confirms the event’s status as a fixture in the trail running calendar and as a sporting highlight of the Paznaun–Ischgl region.

When the scent of freshly baked farmhouse bread fills the air in Kappl’s village square, traditional dishes are being prepared and old Tyrolean crafts are brought to life, summer is all about living tradition. On five Tuesdays between 21 July and 1 September 2026, the Kappl Young Farmers’ Association/Rural Youth invites you to ‘Traditional Crafts and Farm Life’ – an atmospheric evening event that combines regional cuisine, Tyrolean craftsmanship and authentic folk music.

On 22 August 2026, Galtür will once again serve as the starting point for one of the region’s most time-honoured hiking events. The Silvretta Ferwall Marsch offers four routes through the mountains between the Silvretta and Verwall ranges – ranging from family-friendly walks to marathon distances.
