The Viderjoch Trail is suitable for both beginners and more advanced bikers and offers riding fun at the highest level. With magnificent views, the route starts at the Flimjochbahn mountain station.  On the well-maintained trail, the route first leads through rocky terrain. Partly winding and partly straight, it continues to a forest road before the trail branches off to the left again into varied terrain. After crossing the next forest road, the route leads through increasingly lush vegetation. The difference in altitude already covered becomes more and more noticeable: the landscape becomes greener, the meadows wider and the trail invites riders to cruise along with plenty of flow. Bend by bend, it leads down to Alp Trida. From there, several options are available: ambitious bikers can continue directly onto the Duty Free Ride Laret–Samnaun. Alternatively, the gentler Trider Sattel Trail, accessible via the Alp Trider Sattelbahn cable car, is a good option. Returning to the starting point with the Flimsattelbahn cable car is also possible.

The long, partly exposed trail runs close to the border throughout and requires very good fitness. Along the mountain ridge, the compact gravel road winds its way through high-alpine terrain. Some climbs are so steep that the bike has to be pushed in places. After the Greitspitzbahn cable car, an outstanding trail section follows, creating a special sense of freedom at over 2,700 metres. The route runs along the ridge all the way to the Salaaser Kopf. The downhill section then begins. The remote character of the route soon makes it clear why smugglers once chose this path: apart from a few cows, hardly anyone is encountered here. A relaxed forest road leads on to the Alp Trider Sattel mountain station. The Trider Sattel Trail then provides varied downhill fun again and leads to the destination, Alp Trida. From there, the Flimsattelbahn cable car takes riders back to the starting point of the trail. Alternatively, the Duty Free Trail is a good option for extending the ride.

The route is designed to give beginners the perfect first taste of real trail riding, while also impressing more advanced riders with clean lines, speed and rhythm. Bend by bend, the trail picks up momentum and leads down to Alp Trida with plenty of flow. Riders looking for a sportier challenge can make the most of the perfectly shaped jumps. Those who prefer a more relaxed ride can take out some speed and roll over the jumps in control. This keeps the trail varied without losing its smooth character. From Alp Trida, several options are available: the Trider Sattel Trail can be ridden again straight away, or the Alp Trider Sattelbahn cable car can take bikers back up to try the Viderjoch Trail. Experienced riders can alternatively continue down into the valley via the longer and more challenging Smugglers’ Trail. The spectacular double-decker Twinliner cable car then takes riders back to the starting point.

The trail is partly steep, but remains technically manageable, making it great fun for experienced bikers. From Alp Trida, the route first starts along a stream. As the trail crosses the forest road several times, there are numerous opportunities to leave the trail along the way. The route descends almost 590 metres to Laret. As a natural alternative to the built Duty Free Laret Trail, this section offers varied riding fun with flowing passages and rocky sections. At Alpstein, the trail rejoins the forest road. After a short section on the forest road, another trail section begins straight ahead. This part is often damp, but for experienced riders it is a worthwhile alternative to the forest road.
