Up to 2,853 metres above sea level in 6 minutes

November 2017 brought a new highlight to Silvretta Arena ski resort when the existing 4-seater Palinkopfbahn chairlift was replaced by a 6-seater chairlift (System D-Line). The lift‘s advanced technology is protected by 14 patents, taking skiing enthusiasts up to 2,853-metre Palinkopf even more quickly and comfortably than before. The chairlift is your fastest way to get to one of the ski resort’s most stunning summits.

50 years

Die Palinkopfbahn

A chairlift goes down in history

The old Palinkopfbahn from 1973 was one of the first lifts to transport guests at Silvretta Arena ski resort. Back then, it was still a drag lift, while the first slopes were developed around it. In 1983, it was time for a new, fixed 2-seater chairlift. In 1996/97, it was converted into a detachable 4-seater chairlift.
After 20 years of operation and around 12 million journeys up and down the mountain, the next-generation Palinkopfbahn chairlift was put into operation in 2017. In line with sustainability considerations, the old 4-seater chairlift was dismounted and put back up at a Scandinavian winter sports resort. For further details, check out our blog article!
