The marathon route covers the traditional 42.195 kilometers and features an elevation gain of 1,955 meters. It starts from Galtür and heads to Wirl, crossing the Zeinisjoch and passing the Verbella Alpe before reaching the Heilbronner Hütte. Then, it continues over the Grieskogeljoch, which sits at an altitude of 2,698 meters, towards the Friedrichshafner Hütte and further on to Tschafein. The return journey follows the hiking trail to the Larein Alpe and from there, directly along the high-altitude path to the finish line.
