738 Grosse Dias Runde

Exciting exploration tour across the sunny alpine pastures above Kappl, with many options from the Dias Alpe.

An interesting tour of discovery through the sunny mountain meadows above Kappl with lots of possibilities from the Dias Alpe onwards. From the start point in Kappl, the route starts out the same as route 740 (page 80) along side roads towards the district of Oberhaus. Shortly before reaching Oberhaus, the route turns off right onto a forest path which twists and turns through the so-called Sattelwald. After 4.8 km, you reach the tree line at the Berglialpe with clear views across the surrounding peaks and extensive Alpine area. After another 6 km, you come to the highest point in the tour at 1,900 m above sea level and from here can enjoy a leisurely cycle to the Dias Alpe. Or what about the variation up to the Almstüberl? Or via the Dias Trail fast downhill back to the start? You could also consider a detour to the Sesslad Alpe or simply take a leisurely cycle along the forest path through the Wolfgangwald forest. There are many different options for bikers here.

The autoroute (A12 (westbound) or A14 (eastbound)) leads you to the Arlbergschnellstraße (S 16). At the exit for Pians, turn onto the Paznauntalstraße (B 188) and follow its course into the Paznaun.

With the railway station in Landeck, the Paznaun is optimally connected to the Austrian train network. From Landeck-Zams station, only a short bus ride separates you from the Paznaun. Every half hour, line bus 260 runs from there through the valley. Bus stop: Kappl Dorf
