A concert of superlatives closed a successful skiing season in Ischgl: On 30 April 2013, the British rock band "Deep Purple" provided the live heavy rock sound for the season finale at the legendary Top of the Mountain Concert on the Idalp. On the giant open-air stage right in the heart of the skiing area, the five exceptional musicians rocked an audience of 10.000 fans for one and a half hours. With songs from their brandnew album "Now what?" and the rock anthems "Smoke on the Water", "Fireball" and "Strange Kind of Woman" they thrilled the audience before an impressive alpine backdrop. In spring-like temperatures, "Deep Purple" as well as winter sports fans enjoyed a perfect day in the snow: Skiers and snowboarders made use of the great slope conditions in the morning, to then let their hair down from 1 p.m. at the open-air concert.
