15,000 enthusiastic visitors at the Top of the Mountains Concert 2004

Peter Gabriel's 2-hour open air show in glorious sunshine: On 1 May 2004 at 1.00 pm, Peter Gabriel started his spectacular stage show with the song "Red Rain", an anthem against lack of communication and for overcoming barriers. The backdrop against which the brilliant Genesis co-founder performed was also spectacular: a bright blue sky above the snow-white slopes of the Silvretta Skiarena.

Ischgl, 3 May 2004: During the two-hour concert, Peter Gabriel took his audience on a journey through his successful solo career spanning almost 25 years. Stops on this journey through time included the hits "Sledgehammer" and "Solsbury Hill". What is not really surprising, but makes the star all the more likeable: Peter Gabriel spoke German to his audience between the individual numbers and enchanted them with his almost perfect knowledge of German. As a contrast to the snow-white backdrop of the Ischgl Idalp, Peter Gabriel and his band were dressed in black from head to toe. As a special highlight, the British mega-star played the last song, "Hier kommt die Flut", solo.

Peter Gabriel, a snowboarding enthusiast for four years, took advantage of the perfect conditions during his stay of several days in the Silvretta Skiarena and tested the Ischgl Snowboard Arena extensively before leaving for Dortmund on Sunday afternoon.
