From 29 August to 4 October 2026, the Golden Summits will bring exercise, indulgence, music and living tradition to Ischgl, Galtür, Kappl and See. With events, regional cuisine and mountain railways operating until early October, late summer and autumn in the Paznaun valley are the ideal time for active and enjoyable days in the Tyrolean mountains.
When the slopes turn golden, a particularly varied season begins in the Paznaun. The Golden Summits series of events, running from 29 August to 4 October 2026, brings together a selection of events centred on sport, cuisine, music and tradition. At the same time, the mountain railways will continue to transport walkers, cyclists and leisure-seekers comfortably up into the alpine mountains until 4 October.
The Paznaun reveals itself in all its glory: sporty visitors compete in the E-Bike World Championship for all, whilst those looking to savour the local experience discover regional produce, and music, local customs and traditional cattle drives provide special late-summer and autumn experiences. Anyone looking for a bit of relaxation in between can find it at the Silvretta Therme in Ischgl.

- 29 August: Paznaun Market Day in Ischgl – To mark the start of the Golden Summits, Ischgl is transformed into a meeting place for connoisseurs and lovers of regional culture. The market stalls offer Paznaun specialities, such as Paznaun alpine cheese, homemade products and traditional and modern handicrafts. Music and a varied programme of events create a lively atmosphere, making Paznaun Market Day a convivial experience for locals and visitors alike.
- 3–5 September: E-Bike World Championship for Everyone in Ischgl and Galtür – The E-Bike World Championship for Everyone combine sporting ambition with stunning mountain scenery. Professionals and amateur riders can compete on four different routes – ‘Just taking part is what counts’, ‘Everyone’, ‘Everyone Advanced’ and ‘Elite’.
- 25 September: Schlagernacht in See – Schlager star Marc Pircher, together with special guest Stefanie Hertel, will provide top-class entertainment in the marquee in See. An evening of singing along, dancing and celebrating together.
- 26 September: International Alpine Cheese Olympics in Galtür – A wide variety of alpine cheeses from across the Alps will be judged by a panel of experts. For visitors, the International Alpine Cheese Olympics is a delightful gathering centred on cheese culture, tradition and authentic Alpine craftsmanship.
There is plenty to discover in the Paznaun even between events. Hiking and cycling trails wind through the autumnal mountain landscape, whilst regional specialities await you at mountain huts and alpine pastures. The Culinary Paznaun continues to bring regional produce and creative haute cuisine to selected mountain huts and alpine pastures until the start of October, complementing the culinary delights on offer at the Golden Summits.
